I am still figuring out about Jesus, he surely respected cultures, but not wrong ethics. He was a heretic at his times on the Earth! Some cultures contains wrong doings and ethics, he surely denied that. Also he said, leave everything and follow him, that doesn't mean you have to literally follow Jesus with your legs, that means you have to follow his ethics and teachings. The guy suffered with evil spirit was following Jesus, by sharing how he was healed.

Luke 14:33

So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

Also, Hinduism and following Jesus can never ever been one. My dad came from a very strict Hindu family, he started to follow Jesus, he got exiled from family for 5-7 years. After some years, his/our relationship with our grandparent went quite well.
